My Contribution
Looking at what this game focuses on, I realized early on that this will be more of a sound design endeavor rather than a composition endeavor. This was my first experience going into sound design, that in creating the sound effects and cleaning them up. One of the key components was making the core of the game, the creation of the boba, very satisfying, not only visually but also aurally. I spent a lot of time testing a variety of sounds- hitting different types of cups on different types of surfaces, poking holes through a variety of materials, and finding the most satisfying pop I could make with my mouth.
Another challenge I faced was implementing the music itself. I had very little experience using FMOD outside of small workshop projects, and being able to actually work through FMOD into an actual game was quite the experience. Learning first how FMOD connects with Unity, then attaching the audio files to the corresponding assets was an entertaining way to both learn navigating Unity and FMOD.
