Project Summary
What happens when you take a long nap? Your entire planet gets destroyed. To fix your home, you need to travel to different planets to reclaim lost treasure to fix your home. While exploring these distant planets, you can interact with the various inhabitants or even collect new abilities. Will you be able to fix your home planet?
My Contribution
Re:Active was such a fun project to work on. I picked this project in particular knowing I would be writing the music, and decided to take this as an opportunity to connect with the developers more, as well as write music that is not what I usually write- something more synth-based and less orchestral. I wanted to explore the deeper meaning of this game, being alone, exploration, and how that can change even a robot.
One major take away from this project is that I learned that many developers have their own special way of working through things, and that I need to be very clear on what I want from the developers- feedback, references, or anything similar- if I want an easier time writing cues for them. This arose when I sent my first draft in and I got mixed responses, that is until one developer mentioned Celeste, and the lightbulb switched on for me.
